Myripristis adusta

Overall pale salmon pink with dark scale margins, broad black outer margins on dorsal, anal and caudal fins, and black spot on rear gill cover.

Usually inhabits coral-rich areas of drop-offs and steep channel slopes from below the effects of surge to over 25 m. Occurs singly or in small groups, sometimes with other species. A nocturnal species hiding in caves or beneath ledges by day, feeds on plankton such as crab larvae at night.

Known from Mentawai Islands (Ref. 27157). Also recorded from Raja Ampat Islands, Maumere Bay, Komodo, Sangalakki Island and Togean and Banggai Islands; with an Indonesian distribution from Papua to Kalimantan
