Lophiocharon trisignatus

Mottled greenish, brown or reddish brown with row of 2-4 dark-edged, large white spots on membrane between each pair of caudal fin rays.

A benthic species which occurs in inshore waters near reefs in 2-20m. Oviparous. Egg clusters are attached to the side of the body of the male parent, either as brooding strategy or as aid in luring other fish for food. Solitary, usually under wharf pilings or among debris. Oviparous. A clutch of eggs is attached to the side of the body of the male parent.

Recorded from Pulau Bintan; with an Indonesian distribution from Kalimantan to Riau Islands
