Found in lagoon and seaward reefs, often on jetty Pylons. Benthic. Feed on fish, small shrimps. Oviparous. Eggs are bound in ribbon-like sheath or mass of gelatinous mucus called 'egg raft' or 'veil'. Solitary and frequently among sponges in 1-50 m, usually less than 20 m
From Bali Strait to Timor Sea. Also recorded from Manado and vicinity; with an Indonesian distribution from Papua to Bali
